I have to ask, at this point, if you still refuse to vote for Hillary Clinton, what the fuck is wrong with you?
Seriously, do you not understand what’s at stake in this election?
A man who is ignorant in the ways of science, economics, social progress, and basic human decency, could very well become the next president. The most powerful individual in the world.
This man presents a clear and present danger to marginalized people across the nation. And you are going to use your vote to tell your friends of color, your LBQT+ friends, your differently-abled friends, that their livelihoods mean nothing to you?
And you aren’t going to vote for the one person who can stop this evil because of some bullshit argument that you’ve whipped up so you can continue to pout because your ideal candidate isn’t going to win?
Fuck you.
And if you are even considering voting third-party, that goes double for you. A third-party vote is not only wasted, it’s a way of saying that your moral grandstanding is more important than the lives of people who have the most to lose in this election. It is the ultimate act of selfishness.
This election is not about “the lesser of two evils.” There is a clear divide between the two candidates. This is objectively a battle of good vs. evil.
Vote for Hillary Clinton. Vote for Democrats down the ballot. Don’t reward hate. Save the nation and its people.
It is not enough to just vote for Hillary. We must ensure that her administration is allowed to be as impactful and progressive as possible. Without the cooperation of the Senate and the House of Representatives, the Clinton administration cannot pass meaningful legislation. So it’s time to take back the House and achieve a supermajority in the Senate. Vote straight-ticket Democrat. Vote in Democratic senators and representatives for the U.S. Congress.
Vote in Democrats at the local level, too. Vote in Democratic state governors, lieutenant governors, attorneys
general, and secretaries of state. Vote in Democratic judges. Vote in
Democratic senators and representatives for your states. Vote in Democratic county commissioners, registers of deeds, school board members, city council members, and mayors.
If you vote for a Republican candidate, you are voting for someone affiliated with a party that:
Seeks to undo marriage equality for “natural marriage”
Describes transgender folks as subscribing to an “ideology alien to America’s history and traditions”
Defends merchants who deny service to LBQT+ individuals
Normalizes conversion therapy as “proper medical treatment”
Believes Planned Parenthood only provides abortion services instead of healthcare for women
Would undo Roe v. Wade
Supports voter discrimination laws, including laws requiring photo ID to vote
“Encourages” state legislatures to make the Bible required literature for public schools
Rejects any measure to limit public access to guns
Calls pornography a “public health crisis”
Unless you are willing to say that none of these policies are morally wrong, there is a clear binary of good vs. evil in this election, and the elections to come. The Republican Party is absolutely, inexcusably, unarguably, immoral. Voting for any candidate that represents this organization of bigotry is an act of evil.
Green Party presidential nominee Jill Stein tried to capitalize on Libertarian presidential candidate Gary Johnson flubbing a question on world leaders by listing three figures she liked.
But none of the ones she listed are leaders of their respective countries.
A day after Johnson was unable to name a world leader he admired when asked at an MSNBC town, Stein tweeted out a list of her own.
Just a reminder that if you vote for Stein or Johnson, you’re voting for candidates that have similar qualifications as Donald Trump. As in, no meaningful political experience.
Hillary Clinton is literally your only sensible choice in this election. Make sure you vote sensibly.
